Pharmacy embraces knowledge of identification, preservation, analysis and standardization of drugs of natural origin and others, synthesis of new drug molecules, manufacturing of various dosage form, quality control of drugs, clinical trials, mechanism of action, side effects, contraindications, indications of drugs and drug interactions. Pharmacy professionals therefore, are the experts on drugs and drug therapy contrary to the general perception that they merely compound and dispense medicines.
